Saurav Maithani, a renowned singer of Uttarakhand, is not just a name; he’s a torchbearer of Kumaoni and Garhwali culture. As an A-grade folk artist recognized by Doordarshan Akashwani Cultural Department Uttarakhand, his journey is a testament to his dedication towards preserving the essence of Pahadi culture. His efforts extend beyond mere performances; he is actively involved in imparting the art of Mangal Geet to over 3000 ladies and girls through his classes held in Kedar Ghati, Dehradun, and Triyugi Narayan.
In his pursuit to safeguard Pahadi culture, Saurav Maithani has undertaken numerous initiatives. Noteworthy among them is the Mangal Mela organized in collaboration with the former MLA of Kedarnath, Mr. Manoj Rawat. This event served as a platform to celebrate Mangal Geet and Pahadi traditions, drawing attention to their significance and fostering a sense of pride among the community. Moreover, Saurav takes his mission globally, conducting programs nationally and internationally to prevent the decline of Pahadi culture and spread its richness far and wide. Saurav’s unwavering commitment and tireless efforts have earned him widespread recognition as a cultural guardian, ensuring that the melodies of Mangal Geet continue to resonate through the valleys and peaks of Uttarakhand.
